Domain Name Registration in TLD ".lv"
Beginning from March 15, 1997 the Top Level Domain (TLD) for
Latvia ".lv" and its generic subdomains are
administered according to the strict guidelines described below. The guidelines described
here are adopted from ICANN - the main registry
of the Internet.
Registration Process Overview
You decided to register your own domain name in TLD
".lv"? See below
the steps you have to follow.
1. Decide on the domain name
which you would like to register. Domain
name is a string of minimum 2 and maximum 64 characters. Check if the selected domain
name is not already used by somebody else.
2. Read the three Domain Name
Registration policy documents:
- Domain Name Dispute Policy - how to
properly select a domain name
- Technical Requirements - at the time
of registration request submission, hosts or domain name servers (primary and secondary)
to be registered must be fully connected to the Internet and properly configured.
3. Apply
for the selected domain name by
filling in and submitin the online Domain Name Registration template. Please note that the owner of the domain
name must be the ultimate user of the
name (not his Internet Service Provider) |
