1. What is .MD?
.MD is a Top Level Internet Domain (TLD).

2. Who owns .MD?
The TLD, .MD, is the country code assigned to the Republic of Moldova by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA).

3. Does everyone qualify for a .MD domain?
The .MD domain is a special domain primarily dedicated to professionals and companies that work in the healthcare industry worldwide. All individuals and corporations that provide and support healthcare are welcome in the .MD domain. .MD gives the healthcare industry its own online destination and clears the clutter associated with other domains.

4. What is a domain name?
A domain name is simply an address on the Internet. Rather than having to remember a difficult series of numbers (for example, 208.212.155.9), you can type in the textual address, like www.register.md.

5. What is the difference between a top-level domain (TLD) and a second level domain?
Each part of a domain name is separated by a period, or a "dot." The top level is the part of the domain that is to the right of the last dot. .MD is a Top Level Domain. The second level Domain is the part of the address between the "www" and the "MD". Register in the address www.register.md is a second level Domain.

.MD strictly prohibits the display of any pornographic material on any .MD Web site. In addition, you may not redirect your .MD domain to a pornographic site in any other Domain.

Once you qualify for one domain name, you can register as many domain names as you would like.

9. How do I register?
Registration is easy. Go to www.register.md, select the Domain name or names that best describe your unique place in healthcare, and choose your e-mail addresses. As soon as we approve your registration and verify your credit card, you are registered and can begin using your .MD address.
