Registration

.tv registers domain names on a first-come, first-served, fixed price basis. Check our site at www.tv for current Annual Registration Fees. The Registration Fee increases at the rate of 5% at the end of the term for which you elected to pre-pay.
  1. How can I register a domain name without a credit card?
    You can register without a credit card by contacting our Customer Care at support@www.tv, or by phone: (310) 481-3737 .


  2. Which credit cards do you accept?
    We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.


  3. What other forms of payment do you accept?
    Though payment by credit card is certainly preferred, we can also accept wire transfers or checks (international checks are subject to a $10 processing fee, and are payable in US dollars only). Please note: The registration process, including activation of your domain name, will not be complete until payment in full is received in our office.


  4. Why is my credit card being denied or rejected during the registration process?
    For information about why your credit card was declined or rejected, please contact your bank or credit card vendor. In the meantime, we recommend trying to register the domain name using a different card. If you continue to experience problems, please contact support@www.tv or call (310) 481-3737, M-F 6am-5:30pm PST .


  5. How can I change my password?
    Go to our home page (www.tv) and click on the "My Account" button, where you'll have the option to change your password.


  6. What if I forget my password?
    From our home page (www.tv), click on the "Accounts" link. From there, find the link that says "Forgot your password?" and follow the remaining steps. You'll get an email that will allow you to enter a secured page on our site, where you can re-establish your password.


  7. How many characters must my password be?
    Your passwords must be at least 6 characters.


  8. How can I find out the status of my account?
    Go to our home page (www.tv) and click on the "Accounts" link. You'll be able to access information about the domain names you have registered, your contact and address information, and DNS details.


  9. Can I cancel a registration?
    .tv does have a "no refunds" policy on domain name registrations. Once you have registered your domain name, you are legally bound to the two (2) year Registration Agreement.


  10. Do I have to pay the full two (2) year's registration fee?
    Your registration is for a minimum of two (2) years but it can be paid yearly. Or, you may pre-pay for multiple years at the time of registration. At the end of your selected term, the registration fee is increased at a rate of 5% if you want to renew.


  11. What happens after the second year?
    You have the right to renew the domain name forever, in periods of 1 to 20 years at a time, and the price increases at a rate of 5% at the end of each term for which you have pre-paid.


  12. What can I do if I misspell my domain name during the registration process?
    Although .tv has a "no refunds" policy on domain name registrations, we understand that misspellings and typing errors do occur. To report and correct a misspelled domain registration bid WITHIN 24 HOURS, please complete the following:


    1. Register the correct spelling of the domain name at www.tv.
    2. Send an email immediately (within 24 hours) to support@www.tv stating that a misspelling has occurred. You must include the misspelled domain name that was registered or bid on, as well as the corrected domain name spelling (see Step 1).
    3. Once we receive this e-mail notification, .tv will delete the original domain name registration. You will be credited for any charges you may have incurred for the misspelled domain name.


    NOTE:  .tv reserves the right to accept or reject any domain name misspelling requests. The misspelling may not have more than a 2-character difference from the intended domain name. For more information, please visit .tv's Registration Agreement.


  13. How does your new Shopping Cart feature work?
    Our Shopping Cart now allows you to purchase multiple domain names at once. It also gives you the option of pre-paying for your registration terms in blocks of two, three, five, or ten years.


  14. Why is the Check Out process different for domain names that contain generic words or phrases?
    Domain names containing generic words or phrases over $10,000/year are registered individually. Doing so allows you to select multiple payment options, such as wire transfers or checks, in addition to credit cards. If you have other items in your cart as well, you will still be able to purchase those domain names after you have completed the registration process.

WHOIS Information
  1. Does .tv have a "whois" database?
    Yes. If a domain name has been registered, "whois" information is accessible as part of the search result for checking domain name availability. Although no purchase is necessary, you must have a .tv account to obtain "whois" information. This is to ensure that this data is used only for lawful purposes and that, under no circumstances, should be used to allow, enable, or otherwise support the transmission of mass unsolicited, commercial advertising or solicitations via e-mail (spam).


  2. How can I find out who owns a domain name?
    If you believe a registrant is infringing your intellectual property rights, please refer to our Dispute Policy. You may submit your request to the "whois" database to obtain domain name registrant contact information to info@www.tv .

Billing
  1. How do I pay for my domain name?
    Payment is made at the time of registration. For Premium Name Registrations, up to a minimum of US $10 000 will be charged on your credit card. If the Annual Registration Fee is greater than US $10 000, you may return to the site to complete payment.

    If you do not want to pay by credit card, please contact Customer Care.


  2. How long do I have to pay a balance due on my account?
    You have up to ten (10) business days from the Registration Date to submit payment in full if you did not already make full payment. If the annual registration fee is not paid in full within the ten days, the rights to the domain name and deposit are forfeited.


  3. After I pay my first year's registration fee, do I have to pay anything else?
    Yes. Your Registration Agreement is good for at least two (2) years and may be renewed continually thereafter. You can pre-pay for multiple years at the time of registration if you choose. At the end of the term you selected, your annual registration fee increases 5% if you want to renew.


  4. Will I receive a receipt or an invoice?
    Yes. At the completion of the registration process, an e-mail confirmation will be sent you. This document serves as your receipt (if paid in full) or invoice (if there is a balance due).

    Simply register your domain name with .tv as the top level domain on www.tv, and follow the links to create your card.

    A .tv Animated Web Page costs just $9.99 a year (as part of Package #1 or #2), or $16.99 purchased individually. This price includes hosting fees, unlimited changes to content, and access to a variety of design templates.

    After logging in to your Account Manager, click the "Add/View Services" link. You will see a button called "Set Up Web Page". When you click that button, you will be presented with 5 different thumbnails of Web Page designs, simply choose the one you like best.   6. When will my Web Page be activated?
    Your Web Page should be activated within 4 hours.


  7. How do I let people know of my Web Page as soon as I create one?
    Click on the "spread the word" link in the congratulations page that appears after you create your Web Page. Type in your announcement message and e-mail addresses of the people you want to tell and click "send".


  8. Can I edit my .tv Web Page?
    Yes, you can edit your .tv Web Page from anywhere, anytime and as often as you like.


  9. How can I edit my Web Page?
    Log in to your .tv Account Manager and click the "Add/View Services" link. You will see a button called "Modify Web Page". When you click that button, you may modify all the information in your Web Page.


  10. What can I edit?
    You can change your Web Page design, edit your profile and modify your contact info.


  11. Can I see the changes I make before confirming them?
    Yes, after you complete making the changes you will be presented with a preview of your Web Page with changes you have made. Confirm the changes, or go back to the previous page for additional editing.


  12. Do I need to download any special software?
    No. Creating and editing your .tv Web Page can be accomplished from within a standard web browser.


  13. Do I need any special program or plug-ins to use my .tv Web Page?
    You will need Macromedia Flash. If you are using IE 5.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.73 and above version browsers, these plug-ins should have been automatically installed. If not, or if you're using earlier versions of these browsers, the plug-in can be downloaded from: http://www.macromedia.com

Search Engine Submit Tool
  1. Does SubmitWizard guarantee placement within the Search Engines that my URL is submitted to?
    SubmitWizard guarantees the submission of your site to the search engines; however, it cannot guarantee the placement of your site within in the search engines. The search engines are solely responsible for the listing of your site. The search engines look for site optimization features. To find out more about site optimization features, please go to http://www.searchenginewatch.com. MyComputer.com also offers a free service called SiteMechanic which will run a diagnostic test on your site and give feedback in several areas, one of which is search engine readiness.

  2. Why doesn't my site show up on major Search Engines?
    Each search engine has its own set of criteria for listing. SubmitWizard submits the most common criteria to all of the major search engines, and then the decision of listing the site or not is left to the discretion of the individual search engines.


  3. How can I update my Keywords, Site Description, or Category?
    You can update all information related to your site submission by first logging into your account and clicking on the URL link you wish to update. Once you are inside the proper link, enter the updates to keywords, description, or Category and click the "Save & Submit Now" button to save your changes.


  4. Which search engines will my site be submitted to?
    You can see a list of all search engines your site will be submitted to at http://submitwizard.mycomputer.com/searchengine_list.html.


  5. How long will it take to have my site submitted and listed?
    Your URLs will be submitted to over 90% of the search engines within 24 hours. But, it may take up to a week to submit to the other 10%. Once your site has been submitted, it is up to the individual search engines to list your site. This process can take anywhere from a few days to a few months, depending on the size of the search engine.


  6. Why Should I sign up for Auto Re-Submission for Submit Wizard?
    Auto Re-Submit will allow you to keep your content fresh on a monthly basis. By re-submitting your site, you will be able to update your keywords, site description, and categories. These updates will allow potential visitors to know the current contents of your site. Signing up for auto-resubmission also helps you to maintain a higher listing with the search engines.


  7. Am I allowed to change the URL to be submitted?
    You are not allowed to change the URLs once they have been submitted.


  8. What if I made a mistake when I typed my original URL submission?
    If you made a mistake while typing in the URL of your site, contact support by sending your correction to support@mycomputer.com. The support team will be able to make minor corrections to your URL.
